I’ve lost 83 lbs and counting since I’ve started my journey of transformation on April 20, 2015. One pressing question that I receive is, “HOW did you do it?” Well, that’s a long story. LOL

Learn how to lose over 83 lbs by focusing on faith, hard work, good nutrition. Check out this awesome daily routine perfect to get you started.

There are so many layers to my journey. Once I focused on the WHY, then I was able to change the HOW that was within my control. My changed mindset helped me to change my habits/routine. Here’s a peek in a day in my life on my health journey.

Morning

  • Breakfast-Burrito-Turkey-Sausage-Eggs-Spinach
  • Alarm goes off at 6:00 am
  • Before I even get out of bed, I watch a motivational video on YouTube. This is the beginning of my Renewal of My Mind routine to help me set the tone for a fantastic day.
  • Help my middle son get ready for school.
  • Fix breakfast. I try to find quick and healthy options so we all have a great meal. I’ve made these breakfast burritos and they were very filling. They’re whole wheat flour tortillas filled with spinach, scrambled eggs, and breakfast turkey sausage or turkey bacon. Sometimes, my go to breakfast is Greek yogurt with bananas and a little bit of chopped cashews.
  • Review my scheduled workout routine for the day to get mentally and spiritually prepared.
  • Post the daily calls of action for my private FB group, F.A.I.T.H. Weight Loss Journey of Transformation.
  • Review my timeline for inspirational posts to share on my FB fan and personal pages.
  • Do homeschool lessons with my daughter. Supervise my oldest son’s homeschool lessons.
  • My goal is to drink at least 32 oz of water before I work out.

Afternoon

  • Fix lunch for kids.
  • Go downstairs to read devotional, do scripture declarations and pray.
  • Complete scheduled home workout routine. I love working out at home.
  • Eat lunch. I usually eat a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with spinach and olive oil mayonnaise. I may eat chips or tortilla chips with my sandwich. I also have an apple or some fruit. Sometimes, I’ll have leftovers (if there are any LOL).
  • Work on my blog; creating, promoting, completing engagement from blog groups. This takes a lot of time. It can be hours depending upon the amount of work I need to do.
  • My goal is to drink at least 32 oz of water after I work out.

Evening

  • Fix dinner.
  • We eat together as a family. I don’t make separate meals. I try to find recipes that will yield at least 1 day of leftovers for my family of 5. So most of our meals are one pan dishes or casseroles. I made jambalaya with brown rice, turkey smoked sausage and shrimp. Yummy!
  • Clean up kitchen and put away leftovers (hopefully)
  • Get kids in the bed.
  • Decompress. Check email, blog post comments, FB group, etc. Work on cross stitch projects. Watch TV. I usually have a snack while watching TV. I know that’s not the healthiest habit. But I try to eat fruit or a healthy homemade treat to satisfy my sweet tooth. Even if I indulge, I still track it via My Fitness Pal.
  • My goal is to drink at least 32 oz of water before I go to bed.
  • Spend QT with hubby.
  • Get in the bed.

Before I go to sleep, I watch a motivational video to end my day. This helps me to have peaceful sleep.
This is a typical day in my life. I’m not working out ALL day. Nor am I obsessing over my meals and snacks.I have a life outside of taking care of myself. I can’t neglect myself. And I can’t neglect my other responsibilities either. I try to find balance every day.

Some days are more challenging than others. Things can definitely go off course when I have to run errands or have appointments. Then I must be intentional about maintaining my routine. That means I may have to get up earlier to complete my workout. I may need to fix lunch and/or dinner the night before. I just need to be flexible and kind to myself.

There is no condemnation if I’m not able to adjust. I just pick up right where I left off the next day and keep moving forward. These are lifestyle changes, not rigid rules and obligations. This is my new normal. Prior to this journey, I was depressed and lived my life on repeat like the movie “Groundhog Day”. Now I LIVE!!!
