How to have a 6-figures intuitive business with ease: Update – Year 3

3 years ago, I made a post on the Lord’s internet sharing that my husband JP and I left our 9-5s to go full time with our businesses. At the time, we walked away from a combined salary of 6-figures, packed our life from DC, and drove to St. Petersburg, FL.

A lot has happened since 2018, including the husband going back to work after we emptied our retirement money (while I kept working on the business), we moved to Fort. Lauderdale last year for his new job at CBS, and we’re now expecting our first baby.

Recently our business (The Self-Trust Society) crossed the 6-figure revenue mark!

So I took a step back and gathered some reflections that I’ve pondered upon in my journey to give you insights into:

  • What it really takes to follow your dreams,
  • What it really takes to embody your authentic and abundant self
  • What it can look like to manifest the life that you desire (even when it feels uncomfortable!)

Full disclaimer:

Starting my business way back in 2018, I had no idea that I was gonna end here. I didn’t know what it meant to be an entrepreneur nor how to get paying clients. And most importantly, I didn’t even believe that my business could be this successful!

I was in a whirlwind of emotions, feeling irresponsible and guilty for letting go of my previous work, which was everybody’s idea of a “dream job.”

But here’s what I realized:

  • It’s all about giving yourself room and space to evolve and grow,
  • Be open to experiencing different iterations of yourself,
  • Be willing to walk away from things to receive what’s in alignment with your intuition,
  • Being in business is a journey to self-mastery,
  • nd you have the answers that make the most sense for you!

Above all that, doing business means facing your thoughts, borrowed beliefs, pain, and fears.

It’s not an overnight success—let things take as long as they take, and just focus on what you can control.

My name is Nory, and I am the Self-Trust Catalyst for women executives, coaches, consultants, and entrepreneurs that are embodying the most authentic, abundant version of themselves by navigating their feelings with ease. 

Today, I wanted to talk to you about what it takes to build a six-figure business. I recently shared with you that my business hit six figures this year, and it was a huge milestone. But, I wanted to take a step back and share some of the reflections that I’ve experienced, or I’ve noticed, or I’ve pondered upon, as I hit this milestone, so that it can give you insight into what it really takes to follow your dreams, what it really takes to embody your authentic and abundant self, and what it can look like to manifest the life that you desire, even when it feels uncomfortable. 

So, if you’re familiar with my story, I started with this business and the Self-Trust Society back in 2018. At the time, it wasn’t even called the Self-Trust Society, it used to be called the Get Unstuck Program. And one of the things about building a business, one of the things about allowing yourself to embody the most authentic version of yourself, is giving yourself room and space to evolve, to grow, and to experience different iterations of yourself through your journey. And, when I started, I had no idea that I was gonna end here. 

That’s the first thing I wanna be clear about. When I started this business, I really wanted to figure out what I cared about. I wanted to figure out Nory. What I’m really passionate about underneath all these things I do, is self-mastery. I really desired to master myself, to master how I showed up in spaces, to master how I navigated my emotions because they were having a huge impact on me, and to master what I attracted to my environment, into my life. 

So, as a byproduct of that, I went on this journey to have this business, to help people navigate their emotions, help people feel fulfilled, help people live a life that they desire. And, when I began this process, there were a lot of emotions involved within me. Number one, I had just quit a job that I felt, at the time, was my “dream job,” and when I decided to walk away from this position, it was because I wasn’t happy. It was because I had gotten to this point where I had checked all these boxes, and I didn’t know who I was outside of those boxes. 

And, not only did I not know who I was, I was in denial about it. And I felt guilty because here I was living the dream life that people saw as the dream life, and I wasn’t happy. I felt bad for not being happy to be living this life that was supposed to be the top of the mountain. I didn’t count on getting to the top of the mountain and not enjoying the view. 

So, when I decided to walk away from that job, I experienced a lot of discomfort, to be honest with you, because I felt like I was quitting. I felt like I was being irresponsible. I felt like I had worked so hard to get here, and I was just giving it all up. And it really pushed me to work through those feelings, it pushed me to face myself in a way that I hadn’t done so before. 

One of the lessons that I’ve learned from now having a six-figure business, or getting to a place where I’ve grown and nurtured a six-figure business doing what I love, working with women that I respect, that are powerful, that are amazing at what they do, is that you have to be willing to really walk away from things so that you can receive what’s in alignment with your intuition. At that time, I knew so little about what my intuition wanted me to do, but I did know that it was time to walk away. I could feel this visceral calling to step away from this role, and to go into the unknown and trust that things were going to work out for me, even when I didn’t feel like they were gonna work out for me. 

So I went on this journey to have this business. And when I started the business, I didn’t even believe that my business could be successful. At the time, I was so focused on experiencing myself and getting to know myself in this new role, that I hadn’t even thought about what it meant to be an entrepreneur. I hadn’t even thought about what it meant to get clients. I hadn’t even thought about what it meant to have an offer that people would pay for. 

I literally was truly focused on, I have to take care of my needs, and I’m taking this space to do it, and hopefully, in that journey, I’ll be able to make some money. I knew that, worst-case scenario, I could get a job, and I could make at least $80,000 on a job because that’s where I was when I left the last role that I had, but I knew that I didn’t want to do that. 

I did not desire to go back and work for anybody else. I love having my time. I love having access to making things when I wanted to make them, and to be creative, and to, for the first time, ask myself, “What do I really desire to do?” In my adult life, I hadn’t really had that opportunity. So to be able to walk away from a job, and then give myself permission to ask myself “What do I desire?” was new for me. 

As I continued my journey into entrepreneurship, it really was a journey into self-discovery. To me, in my experience, my business has been a catalyst to my self-discovery. It has been a catalyst to my self-mastery. The work that I do with my clients has been a mirror to me about what areas am I working on, what areas am I challenged by, what areas am I celebrating because I’m growing through. 

And that’s not the way I saw a lot of people doing business. And, during this process, I did hire coaches that have helped me and supported me because there was a part of me that, I just didn’t know how to be an entrepreneur, y’all. I didn’t know how to think about all these systems, and how to build all this infrastructure to be successful. I had no idea how to do that. 

When I began to look at my work seriously, I realized that I needed help. And there’s something about going into business for yourself that can be really challenging, and it is this idea that you don’t know nothing. Because you’re stepping into unknown territory and suddenly a part of you rejects everything that you’ve done up to this point. A part of you feels like you’re not equipped to do this, or may feel like that, at least that’s how I felt. 

A part of you is looking for the right person to help you fix it, the right person to give you answers. And in this process of building a six-figure business, I’ve had to learn that I do have all the answers. I have the answers that make the most sense for me. 

Now, this doesn’t mean that I’m not gonna be challenged, and this doesn’t mean that I’m not going to need support to execute on my vision, right? Because that’s different. But, it does mean that, ultimately, I decide which direction my business goes. I decide what kind of clients I work with. I decide what kind of offerings I give them. And I decide, how do I align that with my intuitive guidance? 

And for the first few years in my business, I really was focused on doing what the coaches were telling me to do. I wanted to be that person that did the thing, that was a studious pupil, and I was checking the boxes, that’s how I had learned to be earlier in my life. So, I really wanted to be a good student, and I wanted to deliver on those things. 

And then reality hit. Number one, I didn’t care for what those people were teaching me. It didn’t align with my intuition. They were telling me to do things that perhaps I wasn’t ready to step into. They were sharing strategies with me that I still was wrestling with internally, because to have a business, and to step into business for yourself, means to face your internal challenges. It means to face your thoughts. It means to face your borrowed beliefs that may be impacting your capacity to take action. It means to face pain. It means to face your fears, the fear of rejection, the fear of abandonment, the fear of not being good enough, the fear of not being worthy. That’s really what business is all about. 

So while here I was, spending thousands and thousands of dollars on coaches and some of them were talking about the importance of mindset, I wasn’t still getting the ROI on that, because I was still challenged by Nory. 

And, one thing I’ve learned about having a business and building a six-figure business, is that people don’t have business problems. People have personal, emotional challenges, that manifest in their business. And, I was the embodiment of all of that, because here I was with this goal to hit six figures, and year after year I would see the numbers not be anywhere near that. 

I think my first year in business, which was 2018, I made $2,500. And, I was surprised that I even made that money, to be quite frank with you, because I had such little faith in my ability to have a flourishing business. I hadn’t developed that. I didn’t trust myself enough to have the business I envisioned, because I wasn’t even envisioning a business. 

Even though I was writing things down, and I was going through the exercises, and I was, you know, doing the vision board, and all these other things, I was moreso going through the motions, and less believing what I was putting on those visions. And, I actually have deconstructed a lot of those visions now, because they were not really rooted in my intuitive guidance. 

So one of the challenging things about being in business was accepting that it takes as long as it takes. And, this is something that I tell my clients all the time now like, “Hey, things take as long as they take. Your responsibility is to focus on what you can control.” 

And, that was a challenge for me because I was not focused on what I could control, I was really focused on all the things that would give me an opportunity to distract me, to avoid responsibility for the things I could control. And, I had convinced myself that I can control certain things that I really couldn’t, ’cause I could only control myself. I can only control the thoughts I entertain, the feelings that I give my attention to, the words I say, how it’s delivered, but how it’s received is outside of my control. What people do is outside of my control. 

This was really tough for me when I was doing sales. Because I hadn’t addressed a lot of the emotional turmoil that I was experiencing, I would get on the sales calls, and people would say, “No,” and it would devastate me. Or, I would get on the sales calls and be thinking, “This person needs to pay this bill for me,” and I would be so desperate, so thirsty, that the person would notice it because we feel other people’s energy, and they would not trust me to work with them. They would say “No,” and then the cycle would start all over again. 

So one of the things that I had to do was face the fear of rejection and really get to the heart of where that fear was coming from. That brought up so much stuff for me, y’all. Like, so many things from childhood, so many things from earlier relationships I had, so many things with current relationships I had. 

I just began to notice how afraid I was to be told, “No,” and how much that impacted me, how much of my validation relied on external circumstances. And, when I began to notice that pattern, I had to realize that it needed to change. And, it was difficult to change this, because I was so used to being the person that did the rejecting, and now I was going out there and putting myself in the position to experience rejection, and not from a space of punishment, but just from a space of reality. 

I wasn’t the right person for everybody, and they weren’t the right person for me, and nothing was wrong with that. But, I was challenged by that tremendously, and it had a huge impact on my ability to do sales. It had a huge impact on my ability to show up as my most authentic self, and I started performing. 

I began performing to see if people would hire me. I started auditioning for them because there was a part of me that felt like I had to be this way in order for people to genuinely wanna work with me, and to see my value, and to see my worth, because I wasn’t seeing my own value, and I wasn’t seeing my own worth. 

I’m grateful for that as I reflect on it, because it really taught me that that’s how I had learned to show up, and it gave me an opportunity to shift that. It gave me an opportunity to change how I was acting, and to become available to the authentic side of me, and to embody this version of Nory that is so amazing, and powerful, and is effortless at it. And, I wouldn’t have discovered her if it wasn’t because of that experience. 

A lot of times we think that to grow a six-figure business, it’s all about strategy. Strategy, strategy, strategy, and more strategy. And there is strategy that is needed, but there’s also you facing yourself. It’s also you, learning to trust your intuitive guidance. It’s also you, learning to release. It’s also you, learning to surrender. It’s also you, learning to trust other people with themselves. It’s also you, letting go of the fear of failure. It’s also you, letting go of the fear of rejection. It’s also you, knowing that what you do is so powerful, that it has no choice but to be successful. 

And there was a part of me that was rejecting my power because I had learned that to own my power meant to be humble. I learned that to be humble meant to play small, to downplay how good I was at what I did. So, for the first year and a half of me, coaching, I didn’t realize how big these transformations were because I was downplaying myself. 

And, one thing I want you to take away from this, especially if you’re a business owner, is to not downplay your power. You are extremely powerful. People come into your space, and their lives are transformed. You have to know that and believe that because that’s what becomes a catalyst for your capacity to take action. 

And it wasn’t until I started really listening to the testimonials I was getting from my clients, because they were giving me testimonials, and I started listening to the testimonials, and I was like, “Oh my goodness, I am changing their lives. I am being a part of their transformation at an integral level,” but I hadn’t allowed myself to see that. 

So when I began seeing that is when I realized I’m not only changing their lives, they’re changing my life, too. And this is amazing. And, what has taken for me to get to this place of saying I have a six-figure business, which sounds really cool when I say it out loud, but even that sometimes feels weird because I just didn’t realize that I could do it, and now it’s done. And I’ve done it in a way that aligns with me. 

I felt for a long time that I had to do what the coaches were saying, and do it in the way they were saying it, and it has to be very specific to what they were they were prescribing to me. But I have a business, I’ve manifested a business, doing what I love on my own terms without feeling a deficit, while caring for myself, while literally growing a baby right now. And I am so joyful and grateful for it. I didn’t think this was a possibility for me. 

And that’s one thing that I want you to really sit with as you are having your own business, and as you are stepping into your life, your dream life, as you are looking to attract the things you desire. It is possible to have it in the way you envision it, in the way you desire it. Do not allow other people’s projections of scarcity to permeate your space and take away your capacity to envision where your intuition is guiding you to. 

The number one thing I had to do to really manifest this business that I desire is to trust my intuition, is to trust myself, is to trust that I know what’s best for me. I may not have the how, that’s what other people come in for, but I have the knowing and the certainty that wherever I choose to take my business is where it needs to go. 

And it is that knowing and that certainty that has gotten me to this point. Because when I have hired people from that knowing and that certainty, they have changed my life. The first coach that I hired that, it wasn’t me, it wasn’t my husband, ’cause he was also part of this entrepreneurship journey—and you can learn more about that in my Why I Quit My Nine-To-Five video—when I hired this coach, I didn’t really have the money in my bank account to hire him. 

But my intuition was like, “This person can help you. You need this person.” So I borrowed money from family, from a family friend, to pay for this coach, and he did help me, he supported me so much in learning to honor my voice as a business owner because I was really challenged by that. 

I had learned that business didn’t need to be fun. I had learned that I didn’t have to like it. I had learned that it was all about the client, and I had learned that I didn’t know anything. So when I started working with this coach, he turned all of that upside down, and he began to show me the possibilities. 

And I’m so grateful for him, his name is Ellie, because he really taught me that I did know, and he really pushed me to dig those answers from within, and to honor my voice, and do it with kindness and compassion. And, that was the beginning of this six-figure business in this iteration at this level. 

I feel like I’ve learned everything, I’ve learned something from everyone I work with, but what I learned from Ellie was that my intuitive guidance was valid and that there was a way to make it work in the way I desired. And it wasn’t all or nothing. 

That was in 2019, and I’m recording this in 2021. So, it took time for me to see that, but also to embody it so that I can manifest it later on. And it’s been an amazing journey. As I’m even sitting here right now, sharing these reflections with you about what that has looked like for me, it has really pushed me to unearth parts of myself that I didn’t know existed. It has really pushed me to address a lot of emotional challenges that I had buried deep within me and wanted to ignore. It has really forced me to accept myself, and honor my truth in a way that I didn’t think was possible. 

There are many ways to have a six-figure business, this is not the only way. This is the way it has happened for me. This is the way it has unfolded for me. And, this is the way that I have learned to work through with my clients, to help them manifest the things they desire. And that is to honor your inner voice, to trust your inner voice, and to take action on what your inner voice is guiding you to do. 

For me, that has looked like facing a lot of my feelings. It has meant, number one, making time to feel my feelings. Number two, getting very clear on what I desire. And, what I mean by that is truly what I desire, not what I think I desire, but really what I truly desire. So it has meant being uncomfortably honest with myself and seeing where am I surrendering my responsibility so that I don’t play the role of a victim anymore. 

It has meant creating and following routines that support my intuition. I haven’t always done that, but since I began doing that my life truly has shifted, and I began to experience way more ease. And it has meant letting go of what I cannot control. 

There’s this obsessive nature to want to control others, to want to control how others show up, to want to control the timing of other people’s journey and transformation, and being a coach has taught me that I don’t control any of that. 

My job is to help you with strategies to support you, removing anything that gets in the way of your ability, of your capacity to listen to your intuitive nature and take action. That’s my job. And, I will do everything to do that, but you have to take the action. You have to deal with the emotion. You have to let go of the attachments. You have to surrender to divine timing. You have to give yourself space and permission to be your authentic self and to know that not everybody’s gonna make it on this part of your journey. 

And that’s what having this business has done for me, it has helped Nory become the highest version of herself. And it has helped me do it with ease. The one thing that separates me from other coaches is that when you come and work with me, and you strengthen your self-trust, we are going to do it with ease. 

There are many ways to trust yourself, I imagine, because it’s the universe, it’s so multidimensional. There are many ways to have a six-figure business. There are many ways to manifest the life you desire. There are many ways to experience the life you desire. But what I value the most is doing it with ease, with joy, with enthusiasm. It’s living the life you love without an attitude, without feeling like you’re giving yourself up in return, but instead knowing that you’ve created this life, that you co-created this life, and embracing it. 

Before I began this journey into entrepreneurship, I couldn’t have thought that that was possible. And now, three years later, not only do I know it’s possible, I am an embodiment of that possibility. And, it feels amazing to be able to share this with you, because quite frankly, I hadn’t really sat and thought about what it took to get to six figures. And, I’m grateful that I am because a lot of times we’re just going through the motion, and we’re not allowing ourselves to see how much we’ve grown through this journey, and we don’t celebrate it, and that’s something that I know is very powerful. 

You have to celebrate yourself because only you know how much work, how much release, how much surrender, how much learning, and stretching, and challenging it took to get here. And, you get to experience the joy, the peace, the ease that comes out of this experience. 

So today I wanted to share this with you. I wanna encourage you, but I also want you to see what’s possible. Maybe you don’t wanna do what I do. Maybe you wanna do something completely different. It’s possible. Perhaps, what you desire to do has never been done before, and you’re scared because you haven’t had an example. It’s possible. Perhaps, you’re the first person in your family to do it, and they are not as supportive, they don’t get it. It’s possible. Perhaps, you’re the first person to be willing to look at yourself internally and to do the healing required to break the generational curses and to begin to embody a new level of peace in your bloodline. It’s possible. 

And even when it doesn’t feel like life is happening for you, it is. Having a business is way bigger than the business. It’s a vehicle into you learning to see yourself, to trust yourself, to love yourself unconditionally, to accept yourself without needing people to validate you, and to embody a level of authenticity you know lives inside you. 

That’s what my business has done for me and I’m so grateful for it. I’m grateful for every single person that has been a part of it. I’m grateful for the clients that have fired me. I’m grateful for the clients that I fired. I’m grateful for the clients that continue to work with me. I’m grateful for the clients that have challenged me and pushed me to be better, that have demanded more of me because it has pushed me to demand more of myself. And, I’m grateful for every lesson that has made me a better human, as a result of this. 

I treat myself with so much compassion, with so much grace, with so much love, with so much kindness, because I do what I do. I’ve learned through this business that it’s okay to fall down. It is okay to feel my feelings. It is okay to bring Nory, all a hundred percent of her, to what I do. It is okay to be powerful. It is okay to embody that power. 

In your business, your career, your dream life has the capacity to show you the same, and I cannot wait to hear what that looks like for you.

It’s Nory here. How is your spirit today? 

Let’s talk about the benefits of rest.

If you’re a high-achieving woman, like my clients, you probably don’t really take time to rest. And it’s not because you don’t think rest is not important. You know it’s important. You probably preach that as important if you’re a coach, but you have a difficult time embedding that into your space, embedding that into your daily routine because it sometimes is going to feel like a waste of time. It is not because you don’t value rest, but it’s because of how you think about rest. 

And when we think about rest in a way that is, ‘I could be doing something else,’ or ‘this is not the best use of my time,’ or ‘this is not important,’ you begin to operate like someone that thinks about rest that way. Now, what do I mean by that? 

I mean that you open the door and invite burnout in because you’re constantly on, you’re constantly delivering, you’re constantly doing. And because you’re constantly doing while not allowing yourself an opportunity to give your body a break, to give your mind a break, so that you can actually be better at your craft. 

One of the quotes that I really love from Ed Cartoni is, ‘The mind is a tool, you can put the tool to rest.’ But a lot of us never think about putting the mind down and giving the mind a break, because we’re so used to always thinking, and always being on. And when you are a high-achiever, what I mean by that is you are the type of woman that’s constantly delivering, that’s constantly getting things done. You’re the person that people call when things happen, because you make them happen when that’s your energy. And I know because that’s my energy. 

It can be really difficult to take that time off. We don’t see the value as much because we’re constantly doing. So it’s like a gift and a curse in a way. So it’s very important for you, more than anybody else, to take that time to rest, to take the time to take a breather, because you’re constantly delivering, because you’re such a hard worker, because you’re constantly doing. It’s very important that you put yourself in the position that, whatever it is you are doing, comes from a space of calm, from a space of consistency, from a space of joy, which sometimes gets sacrificed when you’re not taking that time to rest, you feel me? That make sense for you? 

So I wanted to share with you today, three benefits of rest for you as someone that’s a doer, so that you can lean more into rest. Because the reality is, rest is going to help you tremendously live the life you envision for yourself. And if you’re tired, if you feel like you’re always tired, there is a reason why that is. 

The more we get to the root of that reason, the more we’ll be able to feel more joy and ease in our everyday activities. And then one day we’re going to fill our lives. And that’s what we want for you. I want you to feel all the joy in your life, because you deserve it. 

So let’s get into the benefits of rest.

The first benefit of taking time to rest is replenishing your energy. When you take time to rest, you give your mind a break. Because you’re giving your mind a break, you’re able to connect more with your energy, refresh your energy, which then puts you in a position to see things more clearly, to evaluate your actions from a different perspective, and to move more in alignment with your values. So rest really helps you be more authentic to yourself. Be the most authentic version of you. 

The second benefit of rest is that you are able to physically give yourself a break. Because a lot of times when we’re really tired, and we’re getting into burnout is because we physically have not been giving ourselves the opportunity to refresh and renew. So doing things like going to the spa, getting a mani and a pedi, getting massages, it’s like my favorite thing to do, getting a massage or taking a warm bath or, you know, reading your favorite book. 

All these activities, give your body an opportunity to not sit at a desk. It gives an opportunity for your energy to flow differently. Things like meditation, things like breathwork. All these activities give your body an opportunity to move in different areas that you’re constantly, perhaps not paying attention to because you’re so busy doing and doing comes naturally to you. So because of that, rest may not come as natural to you. So we have to be intentional about implementing rest because we know that we may struggle with it.

So the third benefit of rest, which is actually perhaps my favorite benefit, is that when you take time to rest, you begin to allow yourself to dream big. And this is so important because when you’re constantly on, you only focus on what’s in front of you, like right here. But when you take time to rest, when you get these innovative ideas, your intuition starts talking to you a little louder. You begin to consider things you hadn’t considered before. 

Suddenly, your dream life seems way more attainable because you see possibilities. When we are burned out, when we’re tired, when we’re drained, it’s very difficult to see those possibilities because our immediate needs are not being met. 

But when you are meeting your immediate needs like resting, then you can allow yourself to see things way differently. When you suddenly begin to see, oh, well this is my dream life. I can do this. I can do this. And it gets you unstuck. Resting is an opportunity to get unstuck from whatever you’re feeling. 

So if you’re feeling stuck right now, you gotta rest, boo! Because when you rest, you are able to see things differently, and then you’re able to align yourself with your authentic self. And then the world, the universe begins to shift to your favor so that you can achieve those things that you desire. 

So those are the three benefits of rest. The first one is being able to see things clearly, being able to renew your energy. The second one is being able to give your body a break, give the mind a break so that you can replenish yourself in a different perspective. And the third one is to get unstuck because when we’re able to rest, you give yourself room to dream big, you give yourself room to think from a new perspective. And suddenly, what was unattainable, not only does it seem attainable, but you seem to have a path to get to it. 

So as a high-achiever, as a fellow high-achiever, I know firsthand how hard this is. I know how hard it is to take time, to just do the thing that you love to do sometimes or not do work or take a week off, because you feel like there’s going to be a long list of things waiting for you when you come back. But guess what? That list ain’t going nowhere girl. It’s always going to be there. There will always be things that can be done. 

There will always be something that you can check off. Because of that, it’s even more critical that you take the time that you need, to be in a space where you can do that with ease. And rest opens the flood gates to ease. And when we move with ease, life is just much better, life is just more joyful. Life just feels so much more amazing. 

And this is what I do with my clients. They begin to see themselves attracting opportunities that they hadn’t thought were possible. But now, because they’re giving themselves an opportunity to rest, to receive rest, they are allowing themselves to receive all the things in their lives that they desire. 

And that’s what I want for you. I want you to be in a position to receive the life that you dream about, the life that’s on your vision board, the life that you have been constructing, because you are deserving of that life, but you have to put yourself in the energetic space to do that. 

And rest is the best way to do it.

Hola mis amores! I’m Nory and I am the self-trust catalyst for women leaders, consultants, and coaches that are dominating the industry with ease, by navigating their feelings and their emotions with joy. 

So today, I actually wanted to take some time and talk to y’all about what is the self-trust system. Y’all been hearing me talking about it and you have had questions about it. And I figured this is a really good opportunity for me to share with you, what the self-trust system is all about, and how can it support you, and if you’re a good fit for it. So let’s jump in, into that, into all of that. 

The self-trust system is essentially a 12-week experience that I have curated for women leaders, coaches, and consultants that are really looking to navigate their emotions with ease, navigate their feelings with ease. This is the result of years of work that I’ve done with my clients that have landed me in a place where I’m really clear about what it takes to trust yourself, what it takes to believe in yourself, with consistency and with courage. 

Because one thing we don’t realize is that it takes courage to believe in ourselves. It takes courage to bet on ourselves. It takes courage to do the thing that we desire to do when it requires going against the norm, when it requires going against what other people want us to do, or what other people expect us to do. 

And what the self-trust system is, it gives you a process so that you are equipped with the tools that you’ll need when you want to believe in yourself, when you want to trust yourself, when you want to strengthen that muscle and it feels uncomfortable. This is something that I’m very passionate about because I know firsthand how difficult it can be to believe in you. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to live the life you envision for yourself, when it means going against what you’ve been taught, when it means going against what other people expect you to do, when it means going against what feels “safe.” 

Self-trust is a muscle. It is a muscle that you can strengthen over time. And the more you strengthen this muscle, the better you are at dealing and navigating the emotions that are going to come out of you, taking the time to trust yourself, having the courage to believe in yourself. 

And it can be difficult for us to do that because we have been taught to trust in other people, we have been taught to believe in other people, but when it’s time to believe in ourselves with action and consistency, we ball into a corner out of fear that things may not go right, out of fear that things may not go our way and to help combat that, in my life I’ve gone through this long period of time where I have unpacked well, what does it really mean to believe in me? What does it mean to believe in my vision? What does it mean to believe in my dreams? And how do I go about taking action when it’s hard? 

Because sometimes it’s just hard to do the thing you desire. It means doing things you haven’t done before, it means showing up in ways you may not have shown up before, and that can be really difficult for you. And I know because it’s also difficult for my clients. And these are women that are like badasses in their industries, these are women that are, have amazing clients themselves, these are women that are achieving success and experiencing success, and they’re still struggling with believing in themselves. 

They still have that uncomfortable feeling in their bodies when it’s time to pitch a client, when it’s time to ask for a promotion, when it’s time to raise their prices, when it’s time to end relationships. I’m talking about romantic relationships and platonic relationships. They still have a difficult time. 

And we think that this is gonna stop at a certain point and we don’t realize that it won’t. I know I’m here to be the one to tell you that the journey of you believing in yourself, trusting yourself, of strengthening that muscle is the journey of a lifetime. 

And for the women that I work with, these are women that are the “go-to” person. They are the women that people call when something is not going right, they are the women that are the fixers, they are the people-pleasers, they are the ones that are always putting other people above their needs, because they have learned that that’s how they show their love, that’s how they show their appreciation. 

And they get to a point in their lives when they realize I am pouring out of an empty cup and I’m exhausted, and I am done doing this. And I don’t know how to stop doing this. And they want to desperately have a path to take them out of this way so that they can get to the life they desire, so that they can put themselves first without feeling guilty, without feeling shame, and without concerning themselves with what people think about them. 

Because we’ve been taught to really care about what people think about us. And even these women that I work with, these leaders, these consultants, these coaches, these powerhouses, because the women that are in my space are powerhouses, they are wondering, why am I still struggling with this? Why am I still challenged by these ideas and these beliefs that I need people to coastline me? That I need people to give me permission? 

The reality is, these are borrowed beliefs. You learn at a certain point in your life that people needed to approve of you. And especially if you grew up in a household where you didn’t feel you get the attention you desire, which tends to be most of us in some cases, it can be really difficult for you to break out of those beliefs and to release those borrowed beliefs. 

So the self-trust system is a path that gives you the tools that you need to support you in this lifelong journey. What I walk through during these 12 weeks, it gives you the opportunity to release those borrowed beliefs, to unlock and unblock anything that’s keeping you from allowing your most authentic self to shine. 

And the women that go through this experience, they go through a huge transformation. Since these women are leaders, since they are like powerhouses, they rarely feel like they have the space, to be, to breathe, to be vulnerable, to express how they’re challenged, to express the difficulties they’re experiencing. They feel like they barely have a chance to not have it together. 

And for my ladies watching, it’s like unhooking your bra at the end of the day. You know, that relaxing feeling of like, that exhale y’all know what I’m talking about. Well, the women I work with rarely feel like they have a place where they can unhook their emotional bra, and what the self-trust system does is give them a space to do exactly that. 

It gives them a space where they don’t have to pretend that they are okay with people-pleasing, they don’t have to pretend that they are okay with shrinking themselves. They don’t have to pretend that they are okay with letting other people guide their lives. 

How many of us wish we had a space where we could do exactly that? Where we can unhook our emotional bra and give ourselves that opportunity to exhale without being afraid of being judged? Without being afraid of being treated differently? 

And that’s really what the self-trust system is. It is a 12-week experience that I’ve curated for my clients. During those 12 weeks, we spend a lot of time unpacking, what has gotten you to the point where you are. We talk about setting healthy boundaries, we talk about setting healthy patterns. We look at our patterns with compassion and with grace, because part of growing and healing is accepting who we are, where we are. We have a space where you feel like it is okay to be you. It is okay to feel how you’re feeling, it is okay to acknowledge those emotions so that you can be in a space to move beyond those emotions. 

And during the time we spend together, we unearth some stuff. So this is not a space for someone who’s not looking to do the work because we gonna do the work and the work will feel uncomfortable. But I want you to know, as you go through this process, my promise to you is that I will create an environment for you where that discomfort will be a lot easier to navigate. 

Because at the end of the day, we all deal with emotions, and emotions don’t just show up in romantic relationships or with friends, they show up at work, they show up in your business, they show up when you’re in the streets or the supermarket. They show up when you’re driving your car and you experience road rage. 

And when you are able to navigate your emotions with ease, when you are able to respond to triggers with ease, your life transforms. Because there’s only one person that you can control, and that’s you. You can’t control your kids, you can’t control your clients, you can’t control your boss. You can’t control anyone else besides you, besides the thoughts that come into your mind, besides how you respond to the thoughts that come into your mind and how you show up when that happens. 

And when you are able to do that, when you’re able to have a system, a process to respond to those triggering emotions, when you’re able to release those emotions of people-pleasing and show up for yourself, even when it feels hard, then you trust yourself, you strengthen that muscle of self-trust. 

And what starts to happen when you begin to trust yourself, what my clients begin to see, is that when they begin to trust themselves, they begin to keep their word to themselves, about themselves, they begin to honor their boundaries, they begin to set clear boundaries with people that they love, they begin to learn how to receive. 

Because a lot of us don’t know how to receive y’all, especially if you’re the person that’s used to giving all the time, you’ve created such a relationship with the idea of giving that it defines you to a certain extent. So it can be hard to receive when it is your time to receive, when that has been you. But when you exit out of that mindset, your confidence skyrockets. 

You feel more confident, not because of other people, but because of you. Because you know what you are capable of because you keep your word to yourself, because you finish what you start, because you feel like you’re living the life that you’ve envisioned for yourself. 

And then, you become a magnet for abundance. That’s the reason why my clients make so much money, the reason why their businesses are flourishing, and you see me posting about their 70K months or one of them is gonna have a 100K month pretty soon. And they get to release and really get contracts while setting healthy boundaries. The reason why they’re able to do that is that they have the courage to put themselves first. 

They have the courage to honor their intuitive guidance. Too many of us are living our lives, following other people’s guidance, and those people don’t even know where their guidance is from. Those people didn’t even know who told them to do that in the first place. And here we are operating our lives from borrowed beliefs, being upset that we’re not living the life that we desire. 

The women that I work with are ready to change that. And the self-trust system is their map to do that, is what gives them a process so that when it’s time to respond to triggering emotions, they are not reacting. They are not moving into old patterns. 

And if they do it gives them a space to give themselves grace, because a lot of people struggle with giving themselves grace, with saying, it’s okay, that I’m challenged. It’s okay that I may be struggling. It’s okay that I’m not there yet. 

And during this time that I spent with my clients, we’re able to unearth that we’re able to unpack it, and then we’re able to allow them to grow out of that and build on what they have learned. So we spent twelve weeks together, we go through healing, setting healthy boundaries. We go through learning how to receive, learning how to ask for help, learning how to release the people-pleasing, learning how to release the idea of having to save others. Because the only person you got to save is you. 

And then that allows us to become more confident, be more consistent, unleash our authentic selves, and feel like we’re living the life we desire.

3 ways rest inspires my work as a self-trust coach

I have to be transparent with you. Rest was one of the hardest things I had to learn to do because of my high-achiever tendencies.

Meaning I go from ZERO to 💯when it comes to anything that excites me.

For example:

✅ I went from ZERO pole dancing experiencing to becoming a pole dancing instructor in less than 6-months.

✅ I went from not running to running the NYC Marathon in 4 years and finishing in less than 6-hours even after I got injured.

✅ I went from feeling depressed working a 9 – 5 to living the life of my dreams, walking distance from the beach, and doing what I love in less than 2 years!

But even though my 💗 was in the right place, my patterns often lead me to see rest as a waste of time⏱️.

… and this behavior often leads to burnout🔥.

Here’s what I’ve learned:

If you want to listen to your intuition, you have to create an environment where you can listen to your intuition and silence the external world.

In many ways, my work and life forced me to learn how to rest and do it with joy!

That’s why today, I’m sharing 3 ways rest inspires my work as a high-achieving woman and how it has helped stay clear of burnout, operate from a space of ease and wholeness.

Today I want to share with you three ways that rest inspires my work as a self-trust coach. Now before I jump into those three ways, and I will, I have to be transparent with you. Rest was one of the hardest things I had to learn to do, because I am what you would call a high-achiever. 

When I’m really into doing something, I go from zero to a hundred, like we say in New York. We go from zero to a hundred, which means I go from not knowing how to do this thing, not ever doing this thing, to becoming obsessed with it. 

I did it with pole dancing where I went from, never pole dancing a day in my life to becoming a pole dance instructor in like six months or something like that. Because I loved it so much, I gave it literally everything I had, and I just kind of stopped doing everything else. I also did it with running, I went from not being a runner to running the New York City marathon in like less than three years or something like that, it was something really crazy. 

So because that’s my energy, I like to achieve, I like to do, I like to deliver, I like to put things out. I like to sometimes be busy, right? The idea of being busy is what I had associated with success. Because that had been my story, rest was something I didn’t necessarily think about a lot. I actually saw rest as a waste of time. And because I saw rest as a waste of time, I struggled a lot with taking time off, and that often led to burnout. 

So when I became a coach and I started talking about self-trust and I started talking about the importance of listening to your intuition, I began to notice within myself how important it was to create a space and an environment where I could listen to my intuition. A space where I can slow things down from the external world and really focus on how I was feeling, and focus in on how I was moving through life so that I can move accordingly to what felt authentic to me. And that’s really when the rest entered the fold. 

In a way, life forced me to learn how to rest, life forced me to slow down. I’ve talked about depression before and my journey with depression. And I remember being depressed but that being part of rest for me, in a way, because those moments of depression kept me from taking action. And when you’re so used to taking action all the time, when you’re so used to doing, it can be really difficult to shift out of those patterns. 

So rest through my work as a self-trust coach has been a lifesaver, has really helped me. Rest has helped me really take my business to a whole ‘nother level where I’m operating from a space of wholeness, I am operating from a space of ease, and I am not forcing myself to burn myself out in the name of success, which is something that I see a lot of my clients doing, who are also high-achieving women. 

So, what are these three ways that rest inspires my work? 

The first thing is boundaries. A lot of people don’t think about boundaries as rest, but it is. Because when you set boundaries with people, with yourself, with your environment, you put yourself in a position to create a scenario where you can focus more on your internal guidance. So putting boundaries, being clear around my boundaries are helps me rest tremendously. 

Boundaries look different to different people. I remember when I first started setting boundaries, the one boundary I used to have was, don’t call me after 10:00. My phone is off, or my phone is in silent, so even if you called, I’m not gonna answer. And I started telling my friends that like, hey, don’t call me after this hour, don’t call me after that hour because I’m not available. 

And that was very difficult because I was used to being the type of friend that measured her success as a friend, by how available she was to other people. So when I began to set that boundary, it felt really uncomfortable, but my friends were very receptive, and they got with the program. It was a boundary that needed to happen for me to ground myself in myself and center myself, and it worked. 

So setting boundaries is one of the ways that rest inspires my work because when I have my boundaries, I can create a space for me to rest without feeling guilt, without feeling shame, without feeling like I’m doing something wrong. 

The second way that rest inspires my work is by celebrating. I actually just wrapped up a week-long celebration of so many awesome accomplishments for me and just dope stuff that has happened in my life. Like I celebrated a birthday, I celebrated hosting my first retreat for the self-trust system with my clients, which was amazing. I celebrated reaching five, what was it? I think I celebrated making like $30,000 in a month, I celebrated my birthday, my last birthday as a pregnant person. 

My last birthday before I have a baby, I celebrated six years of marriage with my husband. I celebrated my clients having amazing results, like they’re just freaking amazing women and they’re flourishing in so many ways. I also celebrated living the life I desire, being able to do what I love with ease and joy. What else I celebrated? I celebrated so many things, the list is ongoing. 

And when I take time to celebrate, I’m able to rest from doing all this work. I’m able to take out a space to really sit in my joy. And it was so amazing because I did, like, I went to the spa and I got a prenatal massage, which was really good. I got a mani and I got a pedi, I went to eat at my favorite spot, one of my favorite spots near Fort Lauderdale, it’s the steakhouse, and I also went to have lobster. And I just like really celebrated the fact that I can do all these things, right? And I just took the time to not work, a whole week off work, and really focus on celebrating myself. 

A lot of times, we wait until there’s a time to celebrate ourselves, but you can celebrate yourself at any time. And when you do that, you are allowing yourself to sit in the work that you’ve done. Which leads me to the third way that I embed rest into the work I do, and that is receiving, really allowing yourself to receive. 

Self-trust is about you seeing the fruits of your labor. So if you’re not allowing yourself to receive those fruits, and you’re not allowing yourself to experience them and to really sit with them, you’re gonna have a difficult time feeling like you’re trusting yourself with confidence or feeling like you’re doing the “right thing.”

Being able to be a magnet to receive, to receive the manifestations you desire, to receive the joy that’s available to you, to receive the abundance that you have access to, it’s really a feeling I can’t describe. And it has been one of the most transformational parts of my work, because a lot of my clients, they struggle with receiving. They struggle with accepting things like compliments, like more money, like time off, just people doing things for them and receiving help. So many of us struggle with things like that. 

When you put yourself in a position to receive, you let the universe know that you are available. You let the universe know that you are open and then things begin to clear out for you to receive more of what you truly desire. So those are ways in which rest has really transformed my work, and I have to be honest with you, as challenging as this was at the beginning, I’m obsessed with it now because I have been learning that I don’t have to struggle to receive the things I desire. 

That doesn’t mean I won’t be challenged, that doesn’t mean I won’t be uncomfortable, but it does mean that I don’t have to bring unnecessary suffering into whatever it is that I do, especially being pregnant right now, like I’ve had to learn to just be okay with the fact that rest is a part of my life. There’s not a lot of energy to do all those things I used to do before. 

So as I’m growing a tiny human, I’m giving myself permission to discover Nory, in this category, in this way, in this season, and allow her to rest with joy. And that’s really what I want for you too, because the more you rest with joy, the more you begin to see how abundant and wealthy your life really is and you feel like you’re exactly where you need to be. And then you trust yourself even more.

Today I want to talk to you about how to protect yourself from burnout.

A lot of my clients are challenged by this,

… and I think it’s a product of our environment right now.

People are working from home, being around their family, not having enough time for themselves, or feeling like they have to be on all the time for work.

The results:

Feeling tired, really tired.

That’s how burnout sneaks up on you. It moves slowly, and before you know it, you’re feeling drained, fatigued, wondering what’s going on.

But it doesn’t have to be this way!

That’s why today, I’m sharing how you can protect yourself from the unnecessary fatigue that comes with burnout so you can move with more ease in everything you do.

Hola Mis Amores. It’s Nory, your favorite Self-Trust Coach. 

Today I want to talk to you about how to protect yourself from burnout. This is something that I’m seeing a lot with my clients, and I think it’s a product of just our environment right now.

People are working from home, being around their family in the house, not having enough time for themselves, or feeling like they have to be on all the time for work.

And because of that, we are finding ourselves, just being really, really tired. And when you are experiencing burnout at first, you don’t realize it’s burnout because it moves so slowly and it builds on itself over time. 

And then suddenly you begin to notice how fatigued you are. Your body begins to send you the signals that something’s not quite okay. And you have a difficult time shifting out of that behavior because you’re so used to being on, you’re so used to having to respond to everybody all the time. And there are all the social media platforms. And then there are the people out of work, and then there are your family and your friends. 

So it creates this environment where you have a difficult time just taking time for yourself, taking time to quiet all those external voices, and giving yourself room to see what’s going on with you. And when we don’t take that time, we put ourselves in that position, where we find ourselves exhausted. We find ourselves drained. We find ourselves really struggling to center ourselves and we don’t know why. 

And that’s usually when you’re officially burnt out, it’s like something doesn’t feel right here. And, excuse me, that translates into sometimes illness. Sometimes depression, sometimes anxiety. There are all these things that begin to happen in your body because it doesn’t feel okay. My bad y’all, like this pregnancy has me burping like crazy. It doesn’t feel okay. So as a result of that, we have a difficult time coming back to center. 

So it’s important that you have a strategy to help you with burnout because it can really sneak up on you if you’re not paying attention. Okay? So, today I want to share with you, how do I do that? How do my clients do this? Especially because they’re high-achieving women. So they feel like they constantly have to be doing, they feel like they constantly have to be putting out something to feel productive. They feel like they’re constantly busy. And when you’re feeling like that, that’s how you lead yourself to burnout. Okay. So how do we step outside of this? 

The number one strategy to help you protect yourself from burnout is resting. And I know it sounds really simple, but it’s not easy because many of us have not really spent the time to explore what does rest look like for us. 

I want you to think about the last time that you have been conscious about taking time to rest and paying attention to what does rest feel like to you? A lot of my clients, when they start working with me, this is the first time they begin to pay attention to that. 

And that’s why it’s so important because when you rest, when you rest your body, when you rest your spirit, when you rest your heart from being on all the time, you are able to see things much more clearly And when you can see things more clearly, you’re able to make decisions that are aligned with your values. Without feeling guilt or without feeling shame. And when you are not operating from a space, you find yourself questioning what you’re doing all the time. 

A big part of trusting yourself is to be able to see how you show up in spaces. And when you are not aware of how you’re moving in this space, you become a product of that space, right? You just let the space do whatever it wants with you. But instead, when you begin to pay attention to what’s going on, you lead how you operate in that space. 

So it’s very important that you are taking that time to rest and to recharge because that’s what gets you your fuel. That’s what gives you an opportunity to see ‘I am not okay right now. There are some things here that are overworking me. My body doesn’t feel okay. My spirit doesn’t feel okay and I have to take some time for me. All right.’ 

And I know this can be very challenging because many of us don’t take the time to do this. We feel like it’s a waste of time, especially if you’re a high achiever like my clients. You feel like it’s a waste of time. You feel like you could be doing something else. You feel weird because you’re just not used to it. So it feels uncomfortable to take time, to do the things that you enjoy. 

Some of you may feel guilty because you feel like you’re wasting time. You may also feel some shame around that, right? Because you’re not doing, when you feel like you need to constantly be doing. And this is part of you learning to protect yourself from burnout. Because all of those thoughts that may be coming to your mind when you’re resting, they are a byproduct of your inner critic. 

And that’s a way that, that’s something that you have to nurture, right? You have to teach yourself that rest is your birthright. You don’t have to earn rest. You deserve rest. You get to rest and you get to do it as much as you need to. 

So I want to encourage you to take some time to rest. To dance with rest and to discover what rest looks like to you. You may take a little bit to get there, but that’s okay. And when you know it. Practice it, It may be watching your favorite Netflix show. It may be dancing in your house. It may be sleeping, it may be reading, it may be playing tennis. 

There are so many ways that we can recharge our bodies and our soul and once you know what that looks like for you, do more of it, a lot more of it, and watch how your life transforms. All right? I define self-trust as the ability to believe without the shadow of a doubt that you’re making the right decisions in your life and your business.

After spending over a decade helping people trust themselves, I’ve discovered that there are four stages we must go through when cultivating our self-trust.

Each of these stages comes packed with lessons,  strategies, and tools, to ensure we believe in ourselves no matter what without feeling guilt, shame, or getting paralyzed by overthinking.

Why is this important:

Most people, especially female founders, feel stuck because they do not understand how self-trust works.

So when they face certain challenges, they struggle to feel confident and clear because they lack direction on the best way to move forward based on where they are.

If you don’t know where you are, you’ll have difficulty getting to where you want to go. 

So what does this have to do with morning routines?

Morning routines and rituals are the portals to getting crystal clear on where you are, so you can move at your own pace as you decide where you want to go.

If your dream life was a garden, your morning routine is the ritual that helps it flourish with unconditional love, kindness, and compassion.

It gives you insight into the limiting beliefs stifling your growth like unwanted weeds that can’t seem to go away.

As you can see, morning routines are non-negotiable, especially if you want to grow a garden full of delicious fruits, nourishing vegetables, and precious flowers.

  1. Not understanding the purpose of morning routines,
  2. Missing key strategies to establish a morning routine that works for you,

What’s the purpose of  the morning routine:

The purpose of your morning routine is to set yourself up for success during your day.

What does that mean?

It means bringing your body, mind, and spirit into harmony so that you feel grounded in each decision you make.

When you feel grounded in your decisions, you strengthen your self-trust and build up your confidence instead of tearing it down.

You move from the responding stage where you feel like a survivor to the refining stage where you feel like you’re thriving.

3 keys to a successful morning ritual as a coach

Over the years, I’ve tried hundreds of different morning routines, and the one I’m going to share with you today is the best one, especially since I became an intuitive coach.

Why? Three reasons:

  1. Connect with your mind, body, and spirit: When you focus on working with all parts of you, it will be easier to help your clients do the same. You’ll be better equipped to help them listen to their intuition, meet themselves where they are and see their progress.
  2. Root yourself in intuitive guidance: No more looking for answers outside yourself, questioning the voice of God that lives within you. When you create space to listen to your spirit and receive God’s guidance, it will be easier to bring that vision to life, especially when you have to move with faith over fear.
  3. Progress over perfection: For many years, I used to obsess about getting my morning routine perfect and keeping it that way. But life is not about perfection; it’s about doing your best and learning from your reality so you can change it. This routine gives you permission to fail (failure is another word for feedback) and learn from those failures without feeling guilt or shame!

What do you need?

The six must haves to thrive in the morning

Time commitment

If you’re getting started, aim for 15 – 30 minutes. If you’ve been doing morning routines for longer than one year, aim for  30 minutes – 1 hour.

A morning routine can be as short or as long as you’ll like. When I got started, my morning routine was 5 minutes long.

But I quickly realized that I was doing myself a disservice by not carving out more time to ground myself in the morning.

My mind needed more than 5 minutes to settle, and without a quiet mind, it can be nearly impossible to listen to your intuition and move in alignment with your higher self.

Now my morning routine is closer to two hours long. I’ve learned that I am much calmer, productive, and happier throughout the day by investing that time at the beginning of the day.

Do what’s best for you.

Music + Movement

Music is extremely powerful. As you may know, at a basic level, humans are pure energy. As energy sources, we emit specific frequencies depending on our thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. 

Hence why listening to music with a high vibration can uplift your mood as you start the day. When you feel good, you move with more enthusiasm. 

The more enthusiastic you are, the more you’ll enjoy your day and the better the quality of your work.

Moving your body is a great way to start the day with good vibes and carry those vibes during the day.

Meditation

As a healer, coach, or consultant, you know how important it is to quiet your mind. There is an immeasurable amount of studies discussing the benefits of meditation and how it can transform your life.

A study by Yale University found that meditation can help you stop worrying or ruminating about the past or the future.

Personally, this has been an enormous benefit of my meditation practice which I started in 2014. It was one of the essential tools that helped me break free from feelings of depression (obsessing about the past) after the murder of my favorite uncle in Honduras.

Since becoming a coach, 

Meditation has ensured I remain grounded no matter what, so I can support my clients in the best way possible. I cannot imagine my life without it.

My go-to app is the calm app. I shared why I love it so much here and how it transformed my life

These days I don’t use the app that much; I’ve developed a habit of quieting my mind on command, but I highly recommend it to anyone who is still building this habit.

Journaling

3 journaling prompts to start your day with ease

I’ve been a journaler (is that a word?) since I was a teenager. It was my preferred way of getting my thoughts under control. Little did I know that I was managing my anxiety, coping with stress, and studying my patterns.

According to the University of Rochester Medical Center, journaling helps us manage our mental health. If you’re a female founder, your mental health is non-negotiable. 

Coaching from an unhealthy mindset is the epitome of pouring from an empty cup. 

Here are three journaling prompts to start your day.

Don’t forget that you must put your oxygen mask on first before assisting others. Journaling is the best tool I’ve found to help me check for cracks in the foundation of my cup, so I can address them before pouring into my clients.

Affirmations

6 Thriving Affirmations

For many years I didn’t understand the importance of affirmations. I honestly didn’t think they worked and saw them as useless.

Then life humbled me. Now I say them like my life depended on them because, in a way, it does

Affirmations are words, phrases, and statements to help you reprogram your subconscious mind.

I’ll do a deep dive into the subconscious mind later, but what you need to know is that your subconscious mind is in charge of your life 95% of the time.

Have you ever wondered why you do not have to think about activities like walking, brushing your teeth, and driving every time you do it?

It’s because your subconscious is running all those programs in the back of your mind to reserve your energy.

But it also holds things like limiting beliefs that you learned earlier in your life and are drastically impacting your right now.

That’s where affirmations come in; they help you reprogram your subconscious mind so you can align your dreams with your reality.

The right affirmations can drastically change your life, as long as you say them with conviction and faith!

Gratitude

3 benefits of gratitude:

The last element of a morning routine to help you 10x your self-trust is gratitude.

Gratitude is one of the most powerful practices you can cultivate to manifest more elements of your dream life and business. 

Here are three benefits of gratitude:

  • Gratitude pulls you out of your head: Whenever you express gratitude in your life, you stop worrying about the future and obsessing about the past. You focus on what’s working and not what’s lacking.
  • Gratitude grounds you in the present moment: Once you focus on what’s working, you’ll bring yourself into the present moment. The present is the only place where we can change our life and the life of our business.
  • Gratitude opens the floodgates for more financial abundance: When you focus your attention on the present moment, you can take action from a space of abundance instead of scarcity. The law of attraction states that you are what you attract, so if you act with a scarcity and lack mindset, you’ll have more of that. On the other hand, if you operate with gratitude and overflow, you’ll attract more of that.

Here’s a simple easy to apply version to get you started.

The Body, Mind, Spirit, Morning Ritual – The “BMS” Morning Ritual

Step 1: Schedule it – Block 15 – 30 minutes on your calendar every day before starting the day. Yes, this includes weekends!

Step 2: Move Your Body – Play your favorite song and move your body for 5 – 10 minutes. You can use the playlist I shared with you; here is a great time to do some light yoga if you don’t feel like dancing.

Step 3: Calm Your Mind –  Using a yoga mat, lay on your back and take 15 deep breaths. You can use the calm app; they have tons of guided meditations to get you started. 

Step 4: Listen to Your Spirit – Using a journal, express gratitude using the journaling prompts above, say your affirmations, set your intention for the day, and acknowledge an area to improve.

Step 5: Repeat + refine based on your needs – Feel free to refine your morning routine regularly. Review it every 7 days when you’re getting started and every 3 –  6 months when you feel more grounded.
